Facial Rejuvenation FAQ's
What is it?
Known in China as “Mei Rong” the practice of Acupuncture to enhance beauty dates back to China’s Song Dynasty (960-1279 A.D.) when it was used by the Empress and the Emperor’s concubines. Today, Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is an amazing system to stimulate collagen production, re-sculpt the face, neck and jaw areas to decrease wrinkles, reduce the signs of aging and promote a glowing complexion while supporting your overall HEALTH.
Why Facial Acupuncture?
Compared to the leading treatments of Botox and cosmetic surgery (both of which do NOTHING to improve your overall health), rejuvenation acupuncture is typically offered at a much lower cost, and has a holistic element that proves to be more valuable than the benefits of just looking younger.
Is Facial Enhancement Acupuncture Right For Everyone?
Sadly, Facial Enhancement Acupuncture is not the best treatment for everyone. With more people getting 'look-conscious' beauty salons and spas have starting investing in many facial massage tools. Facial massage machines with in-built massage heads, steam dispensers, and so on are being used by many beauty therapists. Likewise, hi-tech facial massage tables and beds are also becoming in the 'in-thing' in most massage parlors. Facial massagers are dime a dozen in the market. Many top beauty brands are also coming up with facial massage brushes to complement a skin-cleanser. Although these massages are very beneficial and are easy available, one must ensure that your therapist is trained, follows hygienic procedures and uses only the right kind of products on your skin.
Surgical History: Clients with a surgical history such as facelifts, should consult a cosmetologist, dermatologist or their M.D. before going in for a facial massage.
Botox: Facial Enhancements after Botox is a no-no because after a botox procedure, movements of the face have to be very limited. Similarly, facial massage after facelifts and plastic surgery should also be done as per the cosmetic surgeon's advice.
Pregnancy: You should not get acupuncture, or most massage when pregnant.
Severe Migraine Headaches: If you are experiencing frequent severe migraines, acupuncture may be able to help you, but it is not the ideal time to get Facial Rejuvenation as it can irritate the muscles of the face and trigger a headache.
Blood Thinners: If you are using a blood thinner, such as Coumadin, Facial Enhancement Acupuncture should be approached with caution, and only with the approval of you M.D. or dermatologist.
Other Considerations: If you have a medical condition that you think may contraindicate acupuncture, please consult your physician or send us a question via email.
What's Involved
With a recommended package of sessions (typically about 10-12) the effects of facial rejuvenation can last for 3-5 years, often times dramatic results can been seen in a little as 3 treatments. With occasional visits thereafter, and the benefits of following dietary guidelines and/or herbal supplementation recommendations (which are discussed during your visits) a person can realistically expect to feel and look biologically ‘behind the clock’.
